Very convenient and portable lantern.
Perfect for my run and gun interview setups. The lantern sets up quick and easy. It’s lightweight and doesn’t take a lot space in my kit bag. Very happy with this purchase.

Fits the Aputure 80c!
Seeing that Aputure accessories for the 80c are back ordered, I picked up this Ulanzi lantern. To my pleasant surprise it fit the 80c perfectly!

Perfect small size
If you have lots of minis and want something easy to work with as a solo shooter, then itâs the perfect size. Very tiny when folded yet big enough for 2 subjects in your portraits close together. Good for focusing the light to a general area to get a mild spread.
Also great for back/hair light in studio.

Bood quality but not a Bowens Mount
If you look through the questions, someone asks “Will this work with a Bowens mount” to which it was answered “Yes”. It will not work with a standard Bowens mount. This is called a Mini Bowens by Ulanzi, which from what I can tell, they are the only one’s making it and making accessories for it. In the picture, they even have something called a “Bowens Mount Adapater”. As far as I can tell, this part does not exist. I looked all over Amazon and on the Ulanzi website. And the part only seems to exist in the picture for this latern softbox.
If you are wondering if this will work with an Aputure Amaran 60d/60x, IT WILL NOT.
3 start because there seems to be nothing wrong with it. It is just a non-standard part. I am returning it.

Not bad
As the only soft box in its size I could find on Amazon, i am pleased with it. Opening was easy, it feels slightly cheaply made, but not bad. The inner diffusion cloth installed fine but the outer diffusion cloth is slightly too small and was difficult to get it to stay in place. The grid was a bit easier bout could also be slightly larger. Works fine though so thanks!

Great build quality and variable levels of diffusion. Easy to deploy and very strong structure when assembled. Very good for small groups, 1-3 individuals maximum. Surface area of diffusion not large enough for big groups.

Soft light
I have the 60w Ulanzi w/Bowens mount. Softens light perfectly! There really is no setup, just squeeze the lantern, lock it in place, and place on the light. Would definitely recommend this soft box and Iâll probably buy again when I get more Ulanzi lights.
