Works fine and simple
Have only used this for watching DVDs so don’t know about its other capabilities. Works fine for that, though the remote and the player don’t communicate instantly. Does what it’s supposed to do so fine for the money and simple enough for anybody to use I would think.

Fantastic!
This is a fantastic blue ray player. I did alot of research on what to get before deciding on this one.Sony has always been a good to brand for me.This blue ray player is very smooth, compact, easy to use, and has great add on features. It pairs great with my Sony TV.

Works great.
I needed to replace my old one that died of age. This one has a tiny footprint. I need an off-line player, not any sort of smart internet device so I did not test/cannot comment on any on-line apps. The player works fine for both DVDs and Blu Rays. It plays video files from USB hard drives, although I haven’t tested this… no need for it.The only drawback/dislike I have for this tight little player is that there are no controls on it other than the remote. I like the ability to put in a disc and press play without digging out a remote. That’s not here, but it’s an inconvenience, not a deal breaker.

About what you would expect from a sub $100 player
Picked this up and GoT Bluray set. This seems to play the discs very well. Picture quality is as it should be. But it does pause and skip a bit when loading discs. Response time from when you click a button on the remote to when the player does whats its supposed to is a few seconds at times when loading or if the disc skips. First disc of the GoT BR set I got just stopped playing during the second episode. Not this players fault, sending back the disc set for a replacement. But I cant help to wonder if a better player would be able to handle a questionable disc better… In any event, overall and for the price, worth it.

Highly recommend
This is a great little unit. And when I say little, it’s definitely much more compact than what I was expecting. But it does everything I was looking for in a DVD player. It was simple to connect, and within minutes I was able to play CD’s and DVD’s. I got a great deal because I purchased it from another seller as pre-owned, but it arrived in a brand new sealed box. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Don’t waste your money
Don’t waste your money! While the picture is sharp, that’s where the good part ends. This is the worst DVD player that I have ever owned. The fact that it’s a Sony is even more disturbing! I’ve owned multiple Sony’s over the years and never had any of the following issues that I’ve had with this one:1. On some Region 1 and Multi-Region DVD’s, it will not allow alternate languages, or subtitles to be used… and yes, the firmware was current. And yes, I do know how to clean and service electronic equipment. In this regard, it’s hit or miss.2. Often, when a DVD has been paused or stopped and the player goes into hibernation mode, or is later turned off, the player does not remember where the DVD was last stopped at, so you have to figure that out from your memory. Again, this is hit of miss.3. Often, when you insert a DVD, the player won’t read it, and you have to cycle the eject button again in order to get it to read the DVD. This happens on videos previously used in the same player. Again, this is hit or miss.4. Approximately 3 weeks into use, the audio would pop and crackle at various points during a movie. This is reminiscent of what old record players did when the needle encountered a scratch. However, it will do this on both brand-new DVD’s as well as old ones that have been previously played in the same unit. It’s completely random, but often happens during climactic moments in your movie. It’s really, really annoying.5. The latest issue is with random locking of the entire unit after doing a pause or a stop. The unit will stop responding to all commands, including the eject or power button on the physical unit. The only way to get around this is to unplug the power, wait about 10 – 15 seconds and then plug the power back in.This unit was received in late March of 2023. This review is dated 08/20/2023. – So, we are talking about approximately 5 months of possession/usage.With the previous Sony’s that I’ve had, the only issue would typically be with the drive belt deteriorating over time, and that was easily fixed by replacing the drive belt. Typically, I’d get 3 – 5 years use out of the old Sony’s before the motor finally gave out.Save your money and save yourself a lot of aggravation… please buy something else.

Sony makes great stuff
Sony players are great, and the remotes and software are consistent. This bd/DVD player is surprisingly small, but it packs a punch. I like that is has a network jack as well as WiFi. It came with an HDMI cable, which ooks like maybe 3ft long. The remote is small and it works with my Sony TV. This player has YouTube and Netflix apps, which I probably won’t use, but makes it handy to consolidate things into one product. The bluray and DVD upscaling quality are great and loading and menu speeds are good. Would definitely buy this again.

Does all the usual BluRay things, plus has apps for many other online applications

Didnât work at all. Stuck on blue ray screen. Totally unresponsive for both remote and device. They refunded without question. Now I still need one that works, so a huge waste of time.

As the title says, this Sony player (BDPBX370) only plays Region A Blurays and Region 1 DVDs, ie, discs for the North American market. It will NOT play region B Blurays or region 2 DVDs which are meant for the UK & Europe. However I have a collection of R1 DVDs so was looking for a player to do this, so this fits the bill. Some reviews have mentioned it also coming with a power supply for North America, however mine came with a power supply for UK/Ireland sockets which suited me fine. The player needs a 12 volt DC supply, so if you want this player itâs easy enough to pick up a power supply for UK/Ireland/European sockets. Overall Iâm happy with this player as it does what I need, which is play North American discs.
